Founded in 2013 SAM Labs is one of the UK’s leading Ed-tech start-ups. Their connected app and hardware solution along with curriculum aligned lesson plans has enabled teachers to effortlessly deliver creative and engaging STEAM and Coding lesson experiences in classrooms around the world. Their aim is to make learning about coding accessible, experimental, interactive and fun.
Students can use SAM Labs kits to design, write and debug programs. They can also apply sequencing, selection and iteration while using logical reasoning to write algorithms, incorporating variables, inputs and outputs. Using the blocks and app, they will learn to control and simulate physical systems.
After funding rounds totalling £8.6m, it was key for SAM Labs to establish an effective infrastructure to scale globally. Ed-tech is one of the fastest growing sectors and specialised candidates are usually scarce. The fight for the talent can make or break the next phase of growth.
With a very light internal recruitment function, combined with the challenges inherent to the Ed-tech market, SAM labs decided to start evaluating human resources partners to help them source, attract and secure the right talent.
